Not entirely Warsaw-related, but important nonetheless. The New Horizons Society, organiser behind Era New Horizons film festival, is launching new edition of their film education program for schools.
New Horizons Society’s website is not entirely English-friendly but the critical information is available here. Schools have time till 30th of September to apply and get their pupils in for a treat: monthly film projections in the local cinema accopanied by a lecture on the major topics/issues of the film. More importantly – it’s during school hours. Program is divided in to groups ages between: 7-10, 11-13, 14-16, and 17-19 years old. The aim is to broaden horizons, encourage sensitivity and breed new generation of film lovers.
All we know is – we wish such opportunities were around when we were of the appropriate age.
